10/08/09 - EMC AWARDED CATERING CONTRACT FOR THE SHAY STADIUM, HALIFAX

We are delighted to announce that we have recently been awarded the catering contract for the new East Stand re-development of the Shay Stadium in Halifax.

The conference and events facilities within this brand new development are scheduled to open in early 2010, and EMC will be responsible for all Hospitality and Public Catering on match days, in addition to establishing a vibrant non match day business, to both the corporate market and the local Calderdale community.

With outstanding facilities within the new development, we are looking to maximise the business potential of the Shay.

Calderdale Council's Leader, Cllr. Stephen Baines, says: "The Council is transforming The Shay into a seven day venue, providing accessible sporting, conference, banqueting and learning facilities of which Calderdale can be proud."

"When the Shay's east stand is completed, The Shay will be able to offer high quality banqueting facilities for up to 300 covers and a range of meeting and function rooms. We will be providing a top class venue for meetings and functions, so it is important that we also offer catering of the highest quality."

22/04/09 - WALES' NEWEST SPORTS STADIUM IS TO HOST ITS FIRST SENIOR SOCCER INTERNATIONAL

Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli could be graced by Premiership stars such as Manchester City's Craig Bellamy, Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey and Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale, now that FAW bosses have confirmed Wales will play at the Scarlets home ground  on May 29 kick off 7.30pm.

This will be the first-ever senior international staged in Llanelli and follows-on from the Under 21 UEFA qualifier between Wales and Luxembourg that was staged at the stadium in March.

Parc y Scarlets will also host this year's Welsh Cup Final between Aberystwyth Town and Bangor City.

Scarlets Managing Director Gareth Davies said: "This is fabulous news for the stadium, Llanelli and the whole of Carmarthenshire.

"To have secured a full international soccer fixture just six months after we moved here is a remarkable achievement.

"It underlines the quality of Parc y Scarlets and its staff, the ground's great flexibility and our determination to make it one of our country's most dynamic venues.

"We thank the FAW for being so forward-thinking in their approach to bring senior international soccer to a new venue.  We can all look forward to a great night and the opportunity to welcome thousands of new visitors to our stadium".

17/04/09 - 2009 ENGAGE SUPER LEAGUE SEASON KICKS OFF IN STYLE

Spring marked the start of a very busy period for 3 of our venues as the 2009 Engage Super League season began.

The KC Stadium, home of Hull FC, Craven Park, home to Hull Kingston Rovers and the Galpharm Stadium Huddersfield, home of the Giants have been venues in demand over the past 2 months for both corporate match day hospitality, and public fans who enjoy the thrill of a Rugby League fixture.

As we are now approaching round 9, we have taken the time to reflect on the season so far, and gain feedback from our clients at each respective club, on how they have found the EMC service:

James Rule, Cheif Executive of Hull FC said; "I have worked with EMC throughout my tenure as Cheif Executive at Hull FC.  I have found them to be a very professional organisation that are attentive and responsive to our needs, whether that is in planning major events or reacting to situations that arise in the delivery of our match days.  They are an integral part of the Hull FC match day experience."

Commercial Manager Mike Smith of Hull Kingston Rovers followed "Since joining Hull KR I have been very impressed with the service provided by EMC.  They are efficient, professional and can adapt at very short notice to the business requirements.  They have an array of talent at all levels of the business and can deliver a quality product at a price to suit everyone.  I am more than happy with the service we have received and look foward to working with EMC long into the future."

Finally, Paul Cribb, Commercial Manager of Huddersfield Giants added "Having started at the Giants last season, the whole process of booking and organising hospitality was very new to me and an area which I felt may be a stumbling block, this was not the case.  EMC's helpful approach and professional attitude gave me complete confidence in every aspect of match day hospitality.  The food is consistently of a high standard and the staff are always helpful in every aspect.  I look forward to working with EMC in the future."

Here's to another successful Engage Super League Season!

14/01/09 - The Brand New Leigh Sports Village opens its doors for business!

The brand new Stadium at the Leigh Sports Village complex successfully opened its doors on Monday 17th November 2008, and have since hosted a variety of non match day events for key organisations within the Wigan borough, from training events, seminars and conferences in its fantastic on site facilities.

During December 2008, the new Stadium successfully catered for over 1000 Christmas covers at its "Christmas through the decades" themed party nights, and attracted local businesses and private parties alike.

The Stadium also held its first match on Sunday 28th January, with Leigh Centurions taking on Salford City Reds in a friendly game.  All hospitality areas were full to capacity with over 425 guests enjoying pre match catering and hospitality.  The game also attracted over 4,500 spectators wanting to be the first to see this iconic venue in Leigh.

David Bradshaw, Commercial Director for Leigh Centurions, commented "The day was a huge success with the corporate hospitality being completely sold out.  All 22 boxes were full.  The performance by all the staff from EMC coped magnificently with a full house, providing the best service in town - It was a remarkable day."

Simon Toon, Cheif Executive for Leigh Sports Village said "We have had a very busy opening period both match day and non match day, with our Christmas parties, and with the first home game at the Stadium on 28th December.  In terms of the EMC delivery, it has been a fantastic start, and we have received extremely positive feedback".

Clare Hunter, Regional Sales Manager for EMC went on to say "We are really excited about working with Leigh Sports Village, and offering the people of Leigh and surrounding areas, a community facility to be proud of."
07/01/09 - Parc y Scarlets, home of the Scarlets in Llanelli

Parc y Scarlets, home of the Scarlets in Llanelli is now well and truly up and running.  Having opened the doors to the public on the 15th November for the first game in the stadium we have subsequently had 5 games at this fabulous new rugby ground and successfully catered for over 3000 guests on Hospitality packages and over 40,000 guests in the public concourse areas of the stadium.

Gareth Davies, Scarlets Managing Director, said "we've already seen the Quinell Lounge full - and what a spectacle is was!  Around 350 guests attended a lunch two weeks ago to start Simon Easterby's testimonial year, with fabulous food, superb service and attentive, professional staff".

Christmas has also come and gone and was a great success for us, during December we catered for over 700 guests on our very successful "Christmas through the decades" parties, including amongst others local schools, solicitors and Scarlets staff!

In addition to the matches and Christmas we have had the pleasure of hosting numerous departments from the Carmarthenshire County Council for events such as Transport Awards Dinner, Gravells for the launch of the new Renault Megane, The Federation of Small Business and Astra Zeneca to name just a few.

To cap a fabulous opening period we have a hectic January in store catering for events such as the Carmarthenshire Sports Personality Awards Dinner and also welcoming the Barbarians to West Wales at the end of January.  We will be hosting a star studded 5 course Gala Dinner the night before the game and then catering for a sell out crowd of 15,000 people for the official opening of the stadium on Saturday 31st January.
